Hey,
I'm trying to come up with a way to improve my one act play. I'm adding one character, a voice that only Coltrane can hear. The problem is I'm not sure how it would be acted out on stage. Should there be someone actually on stage, acting out the lines? Should someone simply read the lines into a mic? Not sure. I know I'll need to add more of this character to the play, so I can develop it and give it a personality. I want it to have human characteristics, because the voice is something Coltrane makes up. In a sense, the voice would act as Coltrane's frustration towards this family and his situation. The voice would be telling Coltrane to take the easy way out; a bad influence of sorts. But also taunting Coltrane all along. Coltrane shouldn't like the voice at all, he should hate the voice. He should want to be rid of the voice forever. The voice will make sense to Coltrane at times, because it is convincing, it knows what Coltrane really wants. It will understand Coltrane, but nevertheless it will be a representation of the evil within Coltrane and his sickness.
Mid-terms are over now. I had a test in Spanish before Spring Break started and now have another on the first Thursday back. Why? Well back to studying. Bye.
